For God loves cheerful givers
2 CORINTHIANS 9:7-8
You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. “For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.” And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others. (New Living Translation)
Giving is a biblical principle that when lived by, produces a rich harvest in our lives. Also, giving is not just about our finances but rather giving is about a lifestyle. When we give the Lord our tithes and our offerings, when we give to those in need, when we give of our time, our love, our resources, we are sowing seeds that God will make to yield and increase a harvest in our lives. It is through our giving that God opens the windows of heavens, pours us out a blessing and connects us with the right people.
The important point is that God is more concerned with the condition of our hearts as we give. That’s why he loves those that give with a cheerful heart. It is through our giving where the greatest blessings and provisions can be seen.
“Bring the whole tithe to the storehouses, that there may be food in my house. ‘Test me in this,’ says the Lord Almighty, ‘and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.‘
“Honor the LORD with your wealth, with the first fruits of all your crops; then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine.”
