WOW: Teenage Temptation

Transcript:

Teenagers growing up in this dark corrupt world often face many pressures in dealing with those who do evil. Many of their friends make wrong choices, do wrong things and there are times when they are tempted to do something that is incorrect or to follow the “wrong path in life.” However, if you focus on God’s wisdom which teaches you to reverence God’s love and obey His Word and not go the wrong way then the ungodly temptations of life will not defeat you. I’m Pastor Demetria Bass of the River Christian Center and that’s your WOW (Word of Wisdom).

The Bottom Line: Gap Standers

Transcript:

God is looking for an individual who will “stand in the gap” or in other words intercede on behalf of His people and plead their case before Him so they will not be destroyed. God is looking for people who will listen to His perspective on the news and respond by “standing in the gap.” Through prayer we can help establish and restore God’s eternal purposes for the nations of the world. I’m Pastor Jeff Bass of the River Christian Center and that’s the bottom line because the Word of God says so.

WOW: Common Sense

Proverbs 10:21 says, the lips of the righteous feed many but fools die for want of wisdom. That same verse in the Moffatt translation reads, but a fool’s lack of sense is death to himself. Today, many people lack common sense and it causes them much grief. They lack the sense to make proper, clear and correct choices. Are you thinking about the decisions you make? Do you ask yourself if you are using common sense? While this may seem so obvious, it is clear that many lack this basic attribute. It’s wise to use common sense before you leap! I’m Pastor Demetria Bass of the River Christian Center and that’s your WOW (Word of Wisdom)!

WOW: Wisdom and Knowledge

The dictionary defines wisdom as “the ability to discern or judge what is true, right, or lasting.” This is a theme that’s recurring throughout the Bible. Knowledge, on the other hand, is defined as having information through experience, reasoning or acquaintance. God wants us to have knowledge of Him but equally important is having wisdom which is a gift from God. James 1:5 says, “But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all men generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him.” Wisdom is what God will bless us with in order for us to glorify Him with the knowledge we have of Him. I’m Pastor Demetria Bass of the River Christian Center and for that’s your WOW (Word of Wisdom)!

The Bottom Line: The Cost of Discipleship

Transcript:

Here’s a quick question for you. What would be the hardest thing for you to surrender to follow Jesus on the path of true discipleship? We need to understand that the way to true discipleship is through the cross of Jesus Christ. There we surrender our old life in exchange for His resurrection life. We need to ask God to help us be willing to say yes to His will and yes to His way. Are you ready to follow Christ? I’m Pastor Jeff Bass of the River Christian Center and that’s the bottom line because the Word of God says so.

The Bottom Line: Seeking God

Transcript:

Proverbs 8:17, “I love those who love me, and those who seek me find me.” Seeking God is the key to knowing Him. When we sincerely seek Him, He will reveal himself to us through His Word, other people, the circumstances of life and we won’t be disappointed. We’ll find a loving God of faultless character who delights in justice and righteousness. To know Him is to love Him and to worship Him. So, seek God. I’m Pastor Jeff Bass of the River Christian Center and that’s the bottom line because the Word of God says so.

The Bottom Line: Jealousy

Transcript:
One of the most dangerous emotions is jealousy. Some people are jealous of those who have better houses. Some are jealous of those who have more talent, better jobs, bigger cars, and so on.  Jealousy is a passionate emotion, that if allowed to move to hate, can drive a person to kill. A biblical example of jealousy was when Cain killed his brother Abel. So, don’t allow jealousy to destroy friendships, relationships, or even, to take a life. I’m Pastor Jeff Bass, and that’s The Bottom Line, because the Word of God says so.
